Lauren Katzowitz Shenfield
A leading donor advisor and family foundation consultant, Lauren is the founder and principal of Philanthropy Advisors, LLC and has provided grantmaking, management and consulting services to clients for 30 years.
Lauren specializes in helping donors define and revisit mission and strategies, including sunset and spend-down, and determine the course of their philanthropies over generations. A nationally recognized facilitator of family foundation board retreats, she has worked with more than 30 private philanthropies to address intergenerational issues, resolve conflict and develop meaningful governance structures. She serves as an executive coach to family and professional foundation staff.
Lauren is a vetted member of the Philanthropy Advisor Programs of FJC-A Foundation of Philanthropic Funds, Fidelity Charitable, the Jewish Communal Fund and the National Philanthropic Trust and is recommended by Philanthropy New York.
She also serves on the Professional Advisory Committees of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Central Park Conservancy. An inaugural member of the National Network of Consultants to Grantmakers, she has been a director of Philanthropy New York and Women & Philanthropy.
